Day 2 – Survival Zone

Not once did I encounter Facebook yesterday.

I found myself habitually typing in www.fa– but stopped abruptly as I realized what I was about to do – break the purpose of the campaign. Coincidentally, my brother attempted to be the snake to my Eve by tempting me to go on. He claimed he had sent me a Facebook page invitation and was wondering if I had received it. I willingly turned him down.

I am not bothered as I thought I would be. In fact, I have been doing fine and got a lot of homework done. I finished a chapter worth of sheets for First Nations 12 and got ahead on my Writing 12 project. I also took a long, delicious nap…which of course kept me up until 3:30 A.M. counting sheep.

Today is day 2 and I have 3 more to go.

I’m armed with determination and am holding out on this survival zone.

Day 2

Actually nothing special happened, except the thing that I have more time for other things. It’s good, but sometimes I really wanted to go on a facebook and chat with my friends a bit.

Facebook Free – Day 2

Well, it’s already day 2 of our Facebook free project. All I can say right now is that I am really eager to go onto the site. I found that every single time that I open up a new tab on my browser, my fingers automatically type in Facebook as if it was second nature. So for the past day, I have had to backspace a lot due to the fact that I always type it in automatically.

During yesterday’s day of no Facebook, I still spent most of my time on the computer and just randomly surfing the web. I didn’t spend more time watching television or studying. The reason behind this is that I did not have any homework at all yesterday. However, one thing that changed was that after I ran out of sites to look at, I started talking to my brothers about random topics and we just talked about random things for an hour and a half.

I think that I can totally keep on going at this for the rest of the week. It will definitely be something difficult to do but it is something that is possible. From what I experienced yesterday, I think that this is definitely harder than I expected. This is mainly due to the fact that my fingers are so used to typing out facebook on the browser.

Facebook Free Day 2

The first day of this experiment was easy. I noticed  that I spent slightly more time on youtube and browsing other websites instead to occupy the time. I didnt finish my homework especially early and spent just as long doing homework as I normally would have.

No Problem

Facebook Free – Day 2

My name is Henry Han.

My teacher from the ICT 12 course from Pinetree Secondary has devised a plan, a plan for us to not use facebook for a full week, starting today.

This is day two.

Since yesterday, life without facebook hasn’t changed much. I’ve gotten only 1 notification from my iPod, but I haven’t checked it yet. Without facebook, I feel like that I have abit more free time, like another 15 minutes. I actually used that time to study and read the novel that we’re doing in English class, 1984. For day one, all I’ve felt was that I’ve had a little bit more free time. All communications have been going through MSN as well as textPlus on my iPod.

For the rest of the week, I think that students will start to cave in and cheat by attempting to go on facebook. I seriously don’t think a lot of people will last throughout the week without facebook. It’s just too much of an influence on normal, daily lives.

On a personal level, I think that this might be harder than I think it is. Another gateway of communication being cut-off. Although I don’t use facebook as much, I found out that most of my communications actually goes through facebook. Who knows what this will become by then end of the week?

We’ll see how this goes 😀

Day 2 thoughts

Okay, so we are on Day 2 of our Facebook Free Week.
How do you feel 1 day in?
  • I feel absolutely unchanged.
Do you notice any changes in your daily habits?
  • Nope.
What is your prediction for the rest of the week?
  • My outlook has not changed.  I will finish the week without Facebook and emerge unchanged.
Is it as hard as you imagined or easier than you imagined?
  • It’s a trivial matter.

2-

– I feel not connected :p

– I’m pretty sure a lot of cheating will happen for the rest of the coming days.

– I think the difficulty level of not logging in to Facebook for a day is not that bad, but if it goes on it will definitely be harder.

Day Two.

The first day going without Facebook wasn’t too hard I only had a glance of it when I had to change me homepage. Instead of spending time on Facebook I had more time for other stuff like sleeping and gaming. I think going without Facebook for a week will be a piece or cake.

Day 2

Instead of going on my computer, I did my homework and played my PSP til I got too tired then went to sleep. Facebook got nothing on Albert, come at me. Also, I no longer have Facebook as my homepage, made it back into the good ol’ www.google.ca as my homepage. Good start, in my opinion.

Easy peasy.

Day 1 – Facebook Free

Ok…here’s my opinion on Facebook Free Day 1. YOU CAN LIVE!

We have become to reliant on Facebook, for most it’s hard to go without a day. But like I said, you can live. It won’t affect your life. Who cares about your corn in Farmville? It’s just a picture on a screen developed by Flash, HTML5 and who know’s what. We think that these “games” are real life…and they are the problem to Facebook addiction. And don’t forget that our parents didn’t have Facebook…so YES, it is possible to go without it for a day or two.

I’ve gone OK with one day….but maybe after 4…who knows?
