Facebook Free Campaign – Day 1 :D

Hello,

I am on my first day of Facebook Free Campaign…

I think Facebook is a real convenient way to upload my pictures, videos, etc. I will definitely miss it for this whole week. However, I am not too desperate; I think I will easily get used to not going on Facebook. I hope that I will not ruin this campaign by cheating… 😀

I can just sense that this campaign is going to be a long and painful torture for certain people in the class. I hope good luck to everyone that is participating in this campaign.

CHEER UP EVERYONE!! 😀

Facebook Free Day 1

List a couple of ways that Facebook positively impacts your life.
1) get to talk to your friends

2) play games

3) put pictures on your account

List a couple of ways that it may negatively impact your life.
1) people can see what you put on your account.

2) some games require to know your personal information.

How will it affect you going for 5 days without access?

It will not affect me is that I do not go on most of the time.

What do you predict will be the outcome of the week?

I predict that I will be alright.

I was already facebook free.

I never used facebook so this is no different for me, i am 15 years old so this is day 5475… prolly not correct math but who cares i dont wanna do math it SUCKS!

Mr hamlin said not to post anything stupid; however he didnt say anything about stupid pictures.

Facebook is good in the ways:

It helps you connect with friends you thought you’d never see again.

It is a nice tool to meet up with people.

Its a good place to make friends.

Facebook is bad in the ways:

Makes you get off-task.

You can become addicted to facebook easily.

You ignore other people (real life) for facebook.

1-

Positive impact

– long distance communication (messaging, picture/video sharing)

Negative impact

– less face to face interaction with other people

– less time on studying

5 days w/o FACEBOOK

– I don’t think I can not log in to Facebook for 5 days :)) I’ll probably end up cheating.

Outcome after 5 days

– LOTS OF CHEATING 😛 :))

Facebook Free Day 1

My name is Albert, 17 year old. Today is the first day of Facebook Free, so far so good. I admit that I do go on Facebook a lot on a daily basis, but, I would probably game instead of going on Facebook so it shouldn’t be too hard to go on a week without Facebook. Good luck to me and the rest of this class. 🙂

Facebook free Day 1, Hour 1, Minute 23, Second 14.

Hi everyone! My name is Alex and Im taking a part in the “facebook free ” project. This is my first post and first day without using a facebook. Its hard! Its alredy hard !

Facebook Free Day 1

Our ICT 11 class is attempting a study on the effects of not using Facebook for 5 days. I expect many varying results depending on the type of person, their personality, and how much they use it regularly will affect their willpower to resist using.

The reason for this study is because of many controversial pros and cons about the use of Facebook. On one side, people insist that Facebook is a place of human networking, communication and interaction between world’s netizens and that it is also very good for connecting with new people or reviving old friends. Conversly, others disagree and say that Facebook is a waste of valuable time and that it has too many people spending more time on the computer.

Personally, this project will easy for me as I dont use it intesnsely anyways other than the occasional “happy birthday” or expressing some emotion in the form of a status, because really, if i wanted to deeply interact with someone or share a funny video I do it through msn anyways. So without a doubt, I am almost certain I will have the willpower to resist using facebook and this should be child’s play for me.

Facebook Free – Day 1

Our ICT class is on a campaign for a facebook free week. We will not be able to go on facebook for 5 days. During this process we will be seeing the effects of not going on facebook such has both positive and negative effects on our lives.

We are starting our facebook free campaign today and we were allowed to update our status one last time before we officially stopped using facebook for the week.

In my opinion, some pros of have the access to facebook would be the efficiency to contact friends. However, other than to contact friends, then facebook is quite boring. Most of the time when I am on facebook, I am not actually doing anything other than surfing the site and looking at the statuses of others.|

Some cons of facebook would probably the fact that people easily lose track of time on the site. They will be too busy on facebook that they do not have time for their studies and own hobbies.

During these 5 days, I think I will be able to do more of my own hobbies and activities. I will probably have more time to finish my homework as well as get in more time for studying and reading. Hopefully, there would be plenty of positive results by the end of the week.

Facebook?

Well, of course I know what it is, it’s a website that acts like a radio and tells people what you are doing and thinking and feeling and what ever else. As of me though, I didn’t struggle with the concept of facebook free, since it is not an important aspect of my life. I do have an account, but I only check it every 2 or 3 month or so. I guess to me, it simply doesn’t do anything important, since I can communicate by email, phone or IM, and I don’t really want people to know what I am thinking or have a photo of me. I’m not saying that it isn’t useful to other people, it can be, and I realize that. I just don’t use it, for it has no purpose for me. Facebook for me is more like an address book, I need it sometimes, but most of the time, it is just a useless tool.

So, yeah, good day.

Simon

Facebook Free – Day 1

My name is Henry Han.

My teacher from the ICT 12 course from Pinetree Secondary has devised a plan, a plan for us to not use facebook for a full week, starting today.

This is day one.

We were allowed to post one last status post on our wall, and check our last messages. We were then instructed to log off, and not use facebook..until friday.

Facebook hasn’t really impacted my life at all. All it really did to me was make communication to my friends easier. I also found facebook a great way to collaborate with friends as a group, able to share many things like videos and pictures.

On the negative side, however, I found that some of the apps found on facebook can really get you hooked onto it. Games like “Farmville”, etc have really got their concepts into people’s minds. There are news all over the place about people that can’t just get enough of planting vegetables and taking care of them.

Personally, I don’t think it’s going to affect me much during the course of these 5 das without facebook. Then again, this is personal. Other people may have many different thoughts on facebook. I have many other ways of communicating to friends anyways, like a cellphone or using an instant messaging service.

During these 5 days, I think that there would be a variety of results. Our teacher has told us that there’s only been one other school in North America that has done this experiment before, and it showed that there was a 30% increase in class attentiveness. I personally think that some people may not be able to do it, and that other may attempt to implement a workaround to get to facebook somehow.

Then again, this is just day one, and we’ve barely started. Let’s see how well this week goes 😀
